i forgot to add that the miss texas organization gave all the contestants families/directors a list of local restaurants (26 i believe?) who had supported the organizaion. it was our challenge to purchase something from each one of those restaurants at least once and turn in all the receipts. so, always accepting of a challenge, my mom and i set out to conquor. when it came down to the night before they were due, we had 13 left i believe. this, however, did not discourage us, and we knew it was time to turn our gameface on. in the end we were successful and awarded the “crazyfamilyeatthemost” prize (as we like to call it), $75 in giftcards to payless shoes. haha
